How to use these federal tax tables to find out your tax liability based on your Adjusted Gross Income?
First you determine your filing status. We'll assume for the sake of an example that your are single and your Adjusted Gross Income(AGI) is $35,000. Use the tables below to find the proper tax rates that apply to you.
- For the first $8,500 you make your tax would be 10% of $8,500 or $850.
- For your AGI between $8,501 & $34,500 or $25,999 your tax would be 15% of that amount or $3,899.95.
- For your AGI between $34,501 & $83,600 or $499 you would be taxed at 25% which would amount to $124.75.
Total the 3 calculations and you've got a total tax due of $4,4874.70.
